It’s finally happened. The two greatest things in the world have finally merged – GIS & chocolate! We are so excited about Nestle’s new contest concept which they are currently testing in the U.K.. It’s W.W.W.W.D. (what Willy Wonka would do). You can read more about it in the original article from CBS News.

Nestle is using GPS inside its candy bars to track its customers.

The “We Will Find You” campaign is based on GPS tracking devices which were placed inside six candy bars. Once the winning candy bar wrapper is opened, the tracking device goes off and Nestle officials will be able to find the exact location of the customer (who will receive 10,000 pounds ($16,145)).

At GISetc.com we curate and bring you the best geography and science resources from the web. We hope our sharing will keep you up to date on the latest science and geospatial news.
