We are delighted to be presenters at the UK’s first national GIS in schools conference! We’re counting down the days to travel across the pond for this exciting educational experience.
Here’s the description of their event: GIS is an innovative technology which has the potential to facilitate inquiry and critical thinking in the Geography classroom. There is no better technology available to teachers and students for the solving of geographic problems using spatial analysis. This conference will explore best practice and innovative use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and will explain the reasons why it should be used. Attendees will be shown exactly how it can be used to meet their curriculum needs in workshops and using live demonstrations. A major focus of the conference will be the way that GIS can be used on mobile devices to collect fieldwork data.
Key speakers will present their views and highlight the untapped potential of this powerful spatial mapping technology.
