Every third week in November is Geography Awareness week! It was originally created in 1987 by Ronald Reagan to promote geographic education across America – in schools and in the private sector.
Our colleague, Allen Carrol from Esri, sent us links to two new online “Geo-Treasure Hunts” created in observance of Geography Awareness Week. Test your geography skills with Colorful Places and Beaches and Shorelines challenge you to pan and zoom to locations that you think answer each of a series of questions. There’s a reward at the end!
If you like those treasure hunts, here are two more from their archives: Cities of the World and Mountains of the World. We wish you a happy & mappy week!
At GISetc.com we curate and bring you the best geography and science resources from the web. We hope our sharing will keep you up to date on the latest science and geospatial news.
