James K. Bowden is an experienced paleontologist, a Certified Interpretive Guide, and an accomplished flintknapper. He has been roaming and exploring the Southern California landscape ever since he can remember, while nurturing a keen interest in nature, geology, and history. He loves sharing his passion for the outdoors, especially with children.
For 30 years, Jim has captivated thousands of students in hands-on programs in university extension classes, gifted and talented programs, and 5th grade outdoor education camps. More recently, Jim oversaw the Gilman Historic Ranch in Banning, California, where he designed and led school group programs about the California gold rush and Native Americans of the San Gorgonio Pass.
