As the election draws near, we want to share a trio of apps that can help you sort out the facts from the fiction.

Politifact

This mobile “Truth-O-Meter” fact-checks politicians and pundits. The app also groups trending issues and sorts its rulings by subject and people.

Dollarocracy

From the Center for Responsive Politics, a campaign finance watchdog, Dollarocracy allows users to investigate the money in politics. The app compiles lists of top donors, industries, and locations giving money to politicians, interest groups, and political races.

Polltracker

Political website, Talking Points Memo‘s app provides updated data on political polls for races across the country.

At GISetc.com we curate and bring you the best science resources from the web. We hope our sharing will keep you up to date on the latest science and geospatial news.

With Super Tuesdays we are careful not to endorse either party. We strive to present unbiased links that can spark conversations based on current events in your classroom.

We live in a society addicted to technology. More smartphones are being used in the classroom and in our offices every day. To help you leverage the technology available to you, we explore, try and share links to apps that can help you and your students. We do not endorse devices from any one company or receive any kind of compensation for these features. We just share links to apps that can help you teach, learn, work and grow.

We found these apps through an article from US News, sharing their top 10 political apps, by Seth Cline, published August 9, 2012 http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2012/08/09/top-10-smartphone-apps-for-the-2012-campaign
