U.S. Planting Zone map shared from NPR – See article for link with credits

Today, on the first day of Spring, we want to share maps of springtime. What better way to map the spring than to follow the planting maps? Here in Texas, we’ve had some lovely spring interludes already. What’s it like today where you are?

If you haven’t looked at a planting map in the last year or two, it’s time to look again! They’ve changed recently to reflect climate changes and the zones are moving north. Click here to read more about it.

Want to dig deeper? The USDA has created an interactive GIS-based version! Users may also simply type in a ZIP Code and find the hardiness zone for your area.

At GISetc.com we curate and bring you the best geography and science resources from the web. We hope our sharing will keep you up to date on the latest science and geospatial news.
